I am Bogdan Nicolae Rus, a licensed New Jersey REALTOR® with eXp Realty (license #2186044). My day-to-day focus is Hudson County, and I also help buyers, sellers and renters in Morris County.
My search pulls from the Hudson County MLS and Garden State MLS, so it may not show every home on the market in Morris County. If you spot a home somewhere else, send me the address and I will look into it.

How do you get from Morris County to New York City?
NJ Transit serves Morris County on two rail routes.
- Morris and Essex Lines: trains to Hoboken Terminal, and Midtown Direct trains to New York Penn Station. Stations include Chatham and Madison.
- Montclair-Boonton Line: trains toward Hoboken Terminal and New York.
I check the walk or drive to the nearest station for each home, because it changes a lot from town to town.
What should you know about Morris County?
Morris County has 39 municipalities and no large cities. Parsippany-Troy Hills is the most populous, with 56,162 residents in the 2020 census, and Rockaway Township covers the most land. Morristown, in the southeast of the county, is the county seat.
Taxes and zoning are set town by town, so I check them for the specific home, not the county as a whole.
How did Morris County begin?
Morris County was created on March 15, 1739, from land that had been part of Burlington County and then Hunterdon County. It is named after Colonel Lewis Morris, governor of New Jersey at the time. During the American Revolution, Martha Washington traveled from Mount Vernon to Morristown to spend the winter with her husband.
